Hi, I’m Mae!
I’ve been working alongside mums, bubs, and families since 2017, and I can honestly say there’s nothing else I’d rather do.
My journey started in rural hospitals like Dalby and Toowoomba, where I learned the beauty (and sometimes the chaos!) of caring for women and families through every stage of pregnancy and birth. I now call Mater Mothers my second home, and work alongside incredible professionals to bring world-class care to women in Brisbane!
I’ve worn a few hats along the way:
- Midwifery Group Practice (OMGP): my favourite role of all, caring for high-risk women in a team of specialists, where I could blend science-backed maternity care with genuine human connection.
- Midwife in Birth Suite, PAC and peri-op care: supporting women in labour, monitoring babies, and working hand-in-hand with obstetricians, paediatricians, and anaesthetists.
- Clinical Facilitator (CF): teaching and mentoring my fellow midwives, running refreshers on everyday practices, and making sure the whole ward stayed on top of the latest, evidence-based care.
I’ve also worn a few “side hats” along the way, from guiding families through health questions as a GP practice nurse, to answering thousands of calls on the COVID hotline at the height of the pandemic. Every role has added another layer of experience and compassion to how I support women today.
When I’m not in scrubs, you’ll usually find me laughing with friends, sipping tea, or reading about new ways to bring peace and positivity into the birth space.

Why Calmbirth®?
Because birth isn’t just a medical event, but a life-changing moment that deserves preparation, calm, and confidence. Through my Calmbirth® classes, I take all the knowledge I’ve gathered from hospitals, clinics, and research, and package it in a way that’s warm, easy-to-understand, and empowering for you (and your partner, too!).
So whether you’re preparing for your very first baby, or welcoming another little love into your family, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. Through Calm With Mae, my goal is to share not only what I know, but also the calm, confidence, and care that every parent deserves as they prepare for one of life’s most extraordinary journeys.
